The Family Studio was impressively spacious and well-appointed.
Unfortunately, the heating system was overly loud during the night.

We had a great stay with friends, exploring the cathedral and enjoying the nightlife at the local pub. The rooms were clean and cozy, perfect for a group getaway. The staff was friendly, allowing us to leave our bags while we enjoyed the city. Perfect !
The only downside was that the room got a bit warm during our stay. We managed by opening the windows, but it could be an issue for some.

This hotel was an excellent fit for a weekend adventure in Durham with value for money. Staff member Michael went above and beyond, even arranging a carry-out breakfast for us. Tip for future visitors, request a refurbished room for a more comfortable stay.

absolutely loved our one night stay everything was perfect! the staff were so friendly and helpful, room was spotlessly clean and comfy. just like my stay last november, will defo be back, no need to look for anywhere else. everything we needed was in walking distance, just perfect! 10/10 would highly recommend a stay at the city hotel.
only issue was the window curtains were thin and let in some cold. also, the mattress on the single bed was a bit too hard for my liking.

I really enjoyed my stay here. the cozy family studio was great, and we even got complimentary water and snacks, which was a nice touch. Relaxing on the sun terrace with a drink in hand and the lovely garden view was perfect. The stairs to our top-floor room were a bit of a trek, but it didn't dampen our experience at all. 🌞

The location was perfect for exploring Durham, with plenty of attractions nearby, including the stunning cathedral. The room was newly decorated and very fresh, which made for a pleasant stay. It was also remarkably clean and organized, contributing to a comfortable experience. it would be helpful to have a mirror in the bedroom for styling hair, as there were none outside the bathroom.

Oh, mate, the Neapolitan pizza at the Modern Persian Kitchen was outta this world! Plus, it’s a stone's throw away from the lovely Market Kitchen, perfect for a late-night munch. And let's not forget, the bar downstairs had great deals on drinks—Hannah was an absolute gem behind the bar!
Now, the road noise was a bit of a bother—earplugs didn’t really do the trick. And one of our TVs was on a permanent holiday—no signal at all. Might wanna ask for a rear-facing room if you’re a light sleeper!
